My own Sweetie Pie

I've been so busy lately with the launch of my new website (still in the works) that I have forgotten about blogging! I'll give you a little update on this oh so sweet life of mine. :)

My little baby girl (who is almost 3!!!) is growing up so fast... right before my eyes. I'm so glad I have SO many pictures of her when she was a newborn and every month thereafter so that I can remember every little detail about her. THIS is one of the main reason's photo shoots are so important! Though we think we might remember every bit of our life, it just so happens those sweet little moments pass by and most often, if not documented, are lost from our memory forever!

I've found myself smiling over the current cute little things Felicity will do, thinking I should probably write that down! Then a few days will go by and I forgot to write it or photograph it and I've completely lost it from my brain! Yep! It's out! I have come to the conclusion that extreme forgetfulness comes with being a mother. ;) So, losing these precious memories is something I am not about to let happen! I have a journal and a camera and am going to make a point to document as much as possible!

I am little by little redecorating Felicity's room to fit her ever-so-speedily growing self. She and I were out in our front yard the other day playing (actually, I was watching her dance... something she LOVES to do) when I realized I needed my camera! So, I snapped a few shots that truly showcase her wonderfully animated personality and I am going to frame them in her bedroom. Hope you enjoy getting to know my sweet little ...baby... girl! :D

I'm finally posting some pictures from the beautiful wedding I did in Gulf Shores, Alabama the end of April. I was very honored that the bride chose me to do her wedding. Her mother provided a beautiful 3 bedroom / 3 bath beach house for me to stay in and the whole experience was just breathtaking. I loved waking up and enjoying my breakfast on the second level balcony listening to the ocean waves crash. It was so nice to have those relaxing moments gearing myself up to shoot the rest of the day. I had a complete blast the entire time!

What I most love about this next silhouette shot is that she had no idea I was taking it. She happened to be standing on the stage talking to her bridesmaids waiting on people for some group shots and i snapped it real quick. I loved it so I later tried to recreate it and the few I took didn't even compare to this one.

WHAAAT beautiful weather Ocala has been having this week! Ohhh I am glad to be back home! Don't get me wrong... I had a great time in Alabama and loved every moment, but come on... nothing compares to Florida in the spring.

Well, yesterday was a perfect afternoon for pictures. I was hired to do a senior portrait and for the location I chose, we were limited as far as time. It's a fairly new park here in Ocala and the landscaping is just gorgeous-a photographer's dream. The only problem is they close at 5pm and Jody had school in the morning, so we were forced to take pictures at... agghh! 3pm!! Oh well, I still managed to find great lighting in the midst of the sunny sunshine. ;P

P.S. - so I realize the majority of my favorites have a common pattern of being close up shots!! But, how could I not? This girl is such a natural cutie and has such gorgeous eyes I just had to showcase them! :)

8 days in Alabama

Well, i'm finally back after 8 days in Alabama! I am so excited because i won a scholarship to a photography workshop in Birmingham, AL. My husband and I skipped our original plans of going to Disney World for my birthday on the 19th, and instead, we traveled to Alabama for a week long stay.

First stop was Jacksonville, AL to crash at my brother's house for the night then onto Birmingham the next afternoon. We had a get together where I was able to meet all the other fellow photographers and had the opportunity to just hang and chat with everyone. The next two days consisted of workshop sessions where I learned so much and had a blast while doing so.

So, the time came when I had to say farewell to my fellow photographians (workshopers?) and back to Jacksonville we went. I was able to spend a day with my brother and his family and visit with my niece and two nephews. It was so nice to be able to spend time with them even though it was so short! The next morning we set off to Gulf Shores, AL to shoot a wedding. We arrived on Friday evening for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. The wedding began in the evening the following day, so Saturday morning the bride's grandfather treated us to a Dolphin cruise! it was incredible! We also stayed in a gorgeous 3 level beach house provided by the bride's parents. The whole trip was amazing!

So, the wedding ended and we set back for Florida on Sunday late morning after I enjoyed a nice bowl of granola cereal on the front porch of the beach house loving the nice weather and the beautiful breeze. Arrived in Florida Sunday night and now it's back to work for me Monday morning!

If you don't know already, I have been working on a completely new website for the past few months. I haven't updated my current website in quite sometime and it's definitely been long overdue! The design is complete, so all that is left is getting all my information and images loaded on the site. This can be a pretty tedious process! My goal is to have it completed by the end of May, (hopefully sooner) so as soon as it is, I will definitely be blogging about it! You can also check out my new logo at the top of my blog page.

So, for now, I am working on pics from the Gulf Shores wedding, but until I get those pictures posted, I will post a few from the workshop in Alabama.

I was SO excited to have the opportunity to shoot with LOMO! One of my fav types of film. Though I know very little about how to use it, I've always loved the look and history of it. Plus, the guys were able to give me the "LOMO for dummies" spiel!

You'd never know only a week and a half ago the weather was absolutely gorgeous outside one beautiful Saturday afternoon. With the extreme sudden weather change Florida has seen the past few days, it's hard to step outside and believe it's April! What is with the cold!?

Well, March 28th was yet, another beautiful day for another beautiful couple of newlyweds. Congratulations Jodi and Amado and thank you for the honor of allowing me to capture your special day!

There were so many wonderful shots taken from this particular wedding, however, i am forced to narrow them down. I wish i could show you all of them, but here are some highlights.

Bridal Photo Shoots

If you are a bride getting married and are considering whether or not to do Bridal Portraits prior to your wedding (usually a few weeks before) then I would definitely recommend it.

For the photographer, trying to capture as many photo's on the wedding day as possible is definitely a challenge, but we always somehow manage! However, some of the most important shots you will want are the portraits of the Bride. Usually trying to get real creative shots of the bride are limited due to schedule. Although it is possible, and I always somehow manage to come out with all the shots needed, it just makes it a whole lot easier doing a Bridal shoot prior to the wedding so we can have fun, put all our focus on the bride alone, and get some really great shots that we might not have been able to get the day of the wedding. Also, it's good because we can travel to a location different than the ceremony or reception site to get even more creative.

In case you are not familiar with Bridal Portraits, it is just simply a day where the bride puts on her dress, and gets her hair and makeup done as if she were getting married that morning. Then, she and the photographer will have an hour or more of shooting time to get the desired shots. And don't worry! -As a photographer, I will not post these shots until after the wedding so nobody see's the bride before her big day!

Here are some shots of the most recent Bridal shoot i did on Valentines Day. The weather was pretty nice, the bride and her family were so much fun, and best of all we had plenty of time to have fun getting the shots we wanted. No chaos, no rushing things... just a fun day of photos.

NEW! Proof Book

We are excited to be offering a new service to our clients beginning March 1, 2009. We now have two options for Standard Sessions instead of just the one.

You, as the client, have the opportunity to choose whether you would like 10-4x6 prints with your session, OR 40 photos in our new spiral bound Proof Book.

The first Session offered is $95 which includes the photographers time and travel (within Marion county) either in studio or an outdoor location of your choice; an online viewing gallery of all photos taken from the session, and your choice of 10-4x6 prints.

The second Session offered is $115 which includes all the same as the first with the exception of replacing the 10-4x6 prints with the new Proof Book. This book contains 4 photos to a page side and has 5 double sideded pages giving a total of 40 photos in all. This proof book is great because it gives the client the option of having 4 times the amount of photos for a fraction of the cost. It is also nice because it is kept in a book made easy for carrying around to show friends and loved ones.

Here is a sample of a proof book. Note this sample proof book has 6 photos to a page, but the one we offer has 4.

I did an engagement shoot this past Saturday. It was interesting because we did it at a local bank here in Ocala. The bank just opened and it's GORGEOUS. What's reeeally cool is we had the bank all to ourselves for as long as we wanted. The bank is not opened on Saturdays, but the owner opened it up for us just for this shoot. Very cool. Here's a few of the shots from that day...

Been a while...

So, wow... it's been since October that i've blogged. Sorry fellow blogger readers! I have been so busy that I forget to update this thing, but I promise I will work harder at remembering! But, busy... that's good, right? I actually had someone call me out on it... they were like... "what's up with your out-dated blog?" Shoot! Thanks to one of my future brides for the reminder! :o)

Okay, so alot of pictures have been taken since October. Tons and tons actually, but I'm not going to post them because that would just take too long, so I will post my most recent Valentine shoot of my daughter (because, after all, she is my favorite subject to photograph), and you need to see how cute she was here haha.

I had so much fun with her, this time especially, because I gave her this big heart shaped lolipop that she just went crazy over. She couldn't believe it was ALL for HER! "For MEEEE!?" she said. :o) Anyway, have fun viewing the pictures. She is just a blast to have around.

I also just did a Bridal shoot of a gorgeous bride here in Ocala. She will be getting married in 2 weeks, so I won't post her Bridal Portraits until after the wedding, but be looking for them! I am very happy with how they turned out.

I photographed a beautiful family this past sunday afternoon and it was a ton of fun! There were 14 of them in all so it made it a very memorable experience! The family is just full of gorgeous adults and children so I just couldn't stop snapping away! But the children especially were so much fun to shoot... it was very entertaining.

Here are some shots from sunday, but don't forget the outtakes! Some of my favorite pictures are the one's that most photographers delete before even thinking twice about loading them on their computer. These are the pictures that really showcase the personalities of the people (especially children) so while you are at it, don't forget to check out the "Bloopers" gallery of my website!

I did a photo shoot today of a darling little miracle boy. He just turned 6 months old and his parents are so blessed to have him (and he is blessed to have them as well!). What a great and precious gift from God is little J.D. to his mom & dad. I SO enjoyed this photo shoot and making him laugh. :o)

I almost forgot to post my own little girl's photo shoot I did last week playing dress-up. I'm so busy with my other shoots that I forget to post pics of Felicity on my blog! She is now 2 years & 3 months old. Growing up so fast and getting cuter by the second! (and more challenging too!)

We dressed up in two outfits; the first a poodle named Fi-Fi and the second, (which she liked a WHOLE lot better), a ladybug.

I did a photo shoot this morning of an absolutely adorable little boy and very photogenic! He was so fun to work with. I barely had to pose him. His facial expressions were just priceless! I was so excited during the whole shoot knowing the pictures were going to turn out incredible, and they sure did! I am very pleased with how every single picture turned out. Unfortunately, there are too many pictures to post, so I will post just a few. But it's going to be so hard to choose which ones! Well, hope you enjoy!!

I just did a wedding this past Saturday, September 20th of a lovely couple who weren't afraid to have some fun! Everything was beautiful. The bride arrived to the church in a gorgeous white limo, then after the ceremony, the chauffeur escorted them into the reception hall from the limo. It was so much fun and everyone had me laughing all evening. Congrats to Pansy & Wilfred!

This was the flower girl and she was just INCREDIBLY adorable! I literally took about 50 shots of her. How can you not!? This was my favorite pic of her.

I'm switching blog companies bc I wanted to try a different one. I think I just couldn't get used to the other one as quick.
